I've met every single person involved in the hardware design, software design, and product assembly, and they all work out of the same offices. Is it worth the effort? It's a hard sales pitch when an EMU is $799 and has a 4 bar MAP sensor, 6 channel ignitor, and built-in wideband controller. Can you make a megasquirt system work? Sure. I also did a megasquirt system years ago, and that's what drove me to look for better options, which is when I discovered the big things that were happening with ECUMaster. I know a few of the folks that have chimed in in this thread, and it's probably 50/50 whether they have personal experience with the EMU, but there are a lot of combined EMU installs between a few posters in this thread. Our products are at a low enough price point that they tend to attract DIY guys more than folks that just drop a car off for a turn-key build.
#Ecumaster .pbp file install
I own ECUMaster USA, and the vast majority of our customers install the ECU themselves, then take it to a shop for tuning. That's the biggest falsehood I've read in a long time. We're taking the motorsport market head-on and no ECU company on the planet is growing as fast as ECUMaster or developing products at the rate we are.Īnd regarding your comment about Freescale, ProEFI, BS3, et al, using TunerStudio. Very few ECU companies manufacture their own products, design their own hardware, and design their own software.
Ĭlick to expand.I own ECUMaster USA, and the vast majority of our customers install the ECU themselves, then take it to a shop for tuning. But I'm not offering that here, that would be against the board rules. I'll sell you my box no sensors or wiring. At this stage of the game, you are lucky to have options, when i started megasquirt couldn't even drive a 7m let alone run extra stuff, but as a MS user, its come along way and is still great bang for the buck.Īnd fyi - the Tuning Software is the same use by these guys: (most important of all - is the software good and easy to use, yes yes yes) No way you are doing this for less than $1500, but at that price you will have all the options you need. All because I was able to share the tune file that was shared with me. I went with a used SMB v3.57 Megasquirt 2, sold the MS2 board and bought the MS3 card along with the expansion so i have a ms3/ms3x - just the box(ecu) was around $600 total, wiring and sensors $$$, having a tune $$$, dyno time $$$.īut since this is a loving community, I was able to get a fully tuned based file from that website above and to date seven 7m's running it now.
